Law Day

What is Law Day?

Law Day, held annually on May 1st, is a national day to celebrate the rule of law. Law Day provides our community an opportunity to understand how law and the legal process protect our liberty, strive to achieve justice, and contribute to the freedoms that all Americans share. The event brings together local justice partners, food and craft vendors, attorneys, and community members for an afternoon of education and collaboration.

Theme

An annual theme is chosen by the American Bar Association to spotlight a particular aspect of law or the legal process and its impact on our daily lives.
The theme for 2026 is “The Rule of Law and the American Dream.” The rule of law – the idea that no person is above the law – is what ensures the rights of the people to live their lives as freely as possible and to pursue their dreams.
